Interim meeting of the DG JRC funded projects: “Agricultural Policy Developments and EU Approximation Process in the Western Balkans Countries (APDAP-WB)” and “Land Market Development and Small Farms’ Access to Land in the Pre-accession Countries (LMSF-AC)”, 10 – 11 May 2018, Durres, Albania

An expert group of representatives of academia and public sector from the Western Balkans, as well as DG AGRI representative, gathered in Durres for an interim meeting of two DG JRC funded projects, implemented by SWG: “Agricultural Policy Developments and EU Approximation Process in the Western Balkans Countries (APDAP-WB)” and “Land Market Development and Small Farms’ Access to Land in the Pre-accession Countries (LMSF-AC)”. Under the scientific guidance of the University of Ljubljana and Agricultural Institute of Slovenia, the expert group has been working to achieve the main objectives:

  • To collect information on agricultural policy developments in the Western Balkan (WB) countries and to conduct comparative cross-country analysis of the agricultural policies and their state of harmonisation with the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP)
  • To strengthen the understanding of the functioning of land markets in the WBs and small farm households’ access to land.

The purpose of the meeting was to check the progress and define next steps for successful completion of the assignment. The final results of the projects are expected by September 2018.
