An expert group of representatives of academia and relevant ministries from the Western Balkans gathered Skopje to kick off two DG JRC funded projects, implemented by SWG: “Agricultural Policy Developments and EU Approximation Process in the Western Balkans Countries (APDAP-WB)” and “Land Market Development and Small Farms’ Access to Land in the Pre-accession Countries (LMSF-AC)”. Under the scientific guidance of the University of Ljubljana and Agricultural Institute of Slovenia, the expert group will work to achieve the main objectives:

  • To collect information on agricultural policy developments in the Western Balkan (WB) countries and to conduct comparative cross-country analysis of the agricultural policies and their state of harmonisation with the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP)
  • To strengthen the understanding of the functioning of land markets in the WBs and small farm households’ access to land.

The final results of the projects are expected by September 2018.
